SUG111
Another paragon of purple passion. You can always tell when a gem has been named by a scientist as opposed to by a marketing guru. Sugilite does not exactly drip off the tongue in dulcet tones. That's because according to my research it was named after the Japanese geologist who discovered it, Mr. Ken Ichi Sugi. If the marketing department of Tiffany's had its way, it would be called something like Lavendrite or Royal Majestica or how about Lapis Magenta? Enough of my rambling. This stone has great colour and character. As you can see from the photo, the stone has a fracture which surfaces on the top. It does not, in my opinion, threaten the structural integrity of the stone. SOLD
